The Emergency Medical Technician will work under the supervision of lead paramedic. The Emergency Medical Technician delivers care to critically ill or injured patients. Patients may be transported between medical facilities or directly from the scene of an accident or illness. The Emergency Medical Technician performs other duties as assigned by paramedic, lead paramedic, or KHS representative.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:Graduate of an educational program for Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, or equivalent.
LICENSURE: Current State of Nebraska Emergency Medical Techician license. National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One year of pre-hospital experience with patient transport/Emergency Medical Services is preferred.
CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written communication skills in multiple relationships with variety of cultural and social backgrounds. Ability to recognize, anticipate and respond to the needs of all customers such as but not limited to: patients, family members, general public, physicians, staff members, law enforcement, fire, and (EMS) in a caring, respectful and courteous manner.

The paramedic delivers care to critically ill or injured patients. Patients may be transported between medical facilities or directly from the scene of an accident or illness. The paramedic is at times with the ambulance crew at public events such as football games and rodeos. The paramedic also may be called upon to assist in the Emergency Department and other hospital units according to KHS policy. The paramedic is responsible for daily operations of their base and performs other duties as assigned. Come and be a part of this unique community in the panhandle of Nebraska.

EDUCATION:Graduate of an educational program for Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic, or equivalent.
LICENSURE: Current State of Nebraska and a Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic certificate/license.
EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience at a paramedic level with and Advanced Life Support Service preferred.
