      Dietary Director

      Supervises and coordinates activities of food preparation and kitchen personnel by performing the following duties.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

      • Plans or participates in planning menus, preparing and apportioning foods
      • Supervises personnel to ensure cleanliness of kitchen and equipment.
      • Supervises inventory, storage, and distribution of food and supplies.
      • Purchases food, kitchen supplies, and equipment, or requisitions them from Purchasing Department.
      • Sets prices to be charged for food items.
      • Meets with employees to resolve menu inconsistencies or to plan menus for special occasions.
      • Assists dietitian to plan, change, test, and standardize recipes to increase number of servings prepared.
      • Direct the dietary service QA program.

      Dietary Cook

      To prepare, cook and serve food for patients and employees under sanitary conditions as directed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

      • Handles, prepares and cooks meals following oral and written instructions, menu recipes with knowledge of kitchen operation equipment.
      • Prepares and presents food in attractive and palatable manner.
      • Serve food to employees, patients and community.
      • Wash pots, pans, dishes and other cooking equipment used in food preparation.
      • Clean and maintain the kitchen facility in a safe and sanitary manner including floors, walls, all equipment and utensils.
      • Responsible for checking in and putting away orders.
      • Keeps daily record of meals served and takes inventory of supplies and equipment.
      • Keep daily records of Temperatures.
      • Keep Dietary area clean and sanitary.
      • Assist in washing and sterilizing of dishes and tableware.
