Digital Radiography or DR, is the fastest and easiest way for a physician to view and assess broken bones, check for foreign bodies or the progression of disease. DR also plays a key role in orthopedic surgery and the treatment of sports injuries.
Computed Tomography (CT) is also sometimes called a CAT scan. CT uses special x-ray equipment to obtain image data from different angles around the body. It then uses computer processing of the information to show a cross-section of body tissues and organs. Kimball Health Services has upgraded to a 64 slice CT which gives technologists the capability to perform many more exams that were not able to be performed previously. This allows for faster imaging and quicker results.
This technology uses a small amount of radiation with the aid of computer technology to determine bone density, detect osteoporosis and calculate the risk of fractures, all in a matter of minutes.
Ultrasound, also called sonography, is an imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. There are no known risks of using ultrasound as a tool for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions.
These are weekly mobile services that are available to give our patients the option of having specialty exams done on-site. Please call (308) 235-1960 for an appointment.
